Prague, Aug 1 (CTK) - Czech cycling champion Roman Kreuziger will join the Australian Orica-BikeExchange road race cycling team in the new season as he signed a two-year contract with it yesterday.
Kreuziger's current team Tinkoff ends in the professional racing this year because its Russian owner Oleg Tinkov is leaving the discipline.
This year, Kreuziger was in the tenth place in the Tour de France. He was the fifth in 2013, seventh in 2010 and eighth in 2009 there.
He received four offers for the transfer.
"Orica was a logical and easy choice for me. I admire its ambitions and targets," Kreuziger, 30, said.
"I want to do the maximum and to help its young team," he added.
Orica's best cyclist Adam Yates from Britain was the fourth at the Tour de France this year.
Matt White, Orica's sports director, said Kreuziger was one of the strongest racers of the World Tour.
