There will be the 16 plato semidark beer served at Pivovarsky klub soon. The beer was brewed together with hungarian brewers and is finished with Tokaj wine extract. That's why it is about 8%Abv for 16 plato beer. This is basicaly the same beer - well, brewed the same way, as the one listed on KAltenecker web site - base beer is there 13 plato dark beer finished with the Tokaj wine. it is by far their best beer. Very drinkable and also very dangerous for it's alcohol volume:)

There will be Kaltenecker weizen avaible for taste at Tabor at the end of January during the famous beer festival at Palcat hotel.

One more thing: as there is a "Visegrad beer triangle" cooperation, Jan Suran of Pivo Praha company brewed last weekend his IPA in KAltenecker and also in a near by hungarian city of Miskolc. Those are the guys who provided the Tokaj wine for 16 plato semidark beer:)

The Troobacz is outstanding. The Kaltenecker dark is definitely better than their ginger-honey lager, but not at all at the same level as the Troobacz.

It seems they've had Brokát at Pivovarsky klub a couple of times: at Ratebeer, user slimchill rated it on October 8 based on a tasting at Pivovarsky klub. I tried mine on December 30, so that's clearly not the same keg.

For that matter, I seemed to think it tasted better than he did. Maybe they've improved.

Oh! I had that “Trubač” and I really loved it. As I did that Opat 16° they had on the same day.
Some time ago, at Pivovarsky Klub, they had another dark beer from Klatecnecker. It was not bad, but it tasted a bit like a regular industrial tmavé. Maybe it was not the best batch, but if we are talking about the same beer, I was a bit dissapointed. Must try it again.
