Plísková declared best Czech tennis player in 2017

Karolina Pliskova, a former world No. 1, won a poll of the Tenis magazine and the Czech Tennis Association, and was declared the best Czech tennis player in 2017 Thursday.

Golden hockey goalie Hnilička to be gov't sport commissioner

Former Czech ice-hockey goalie and ANO MP Milan Hnilička, a gold medalist from the Nagano Olympics, will fill a new post of the government commissioner for sports, which Prime Minister-designate Andrej Babiš plans to establish, Lidové noviny reported.

Malík is new head of Czech Football Association

The Czech Football Association elected Martin Malík its new chairman on Tuesday, half a year after the previous head Miroslav Pelta resigned from the post after the police arrested him over suspected corruption related to the distribution of sport subsidies.
