Czech ice hockey forward Martin Ručinský, an Olympic winner from the 1998 Nagano games, a triple world cup champion and leader of the first ice hockey league winner Litvínov, has ended his career at the age of 44, the club told journalists yesterday.

Late footballer Masopust decorated with UEFA award

Czech football player Josef Masopust, who died at the age of 84 on Monday, was presented with UEFA's President Award for 2014 by Michel Platini on Sunday, when he visited Masopust shortly before his death during his current visit to Prague, Platini said Tuesday.
