Israeli Ben Haim is Czech football league's most expensive player

Israeli forward Tal Ben Haim Junior, 27, signed a four-year contract with Sparta Prague that is to pay 2.9 million euros to Maccabi Tel Aviv for his transfer according to Israeli media, which makes Ben Haim the most expensive footballer in the history of the top Czech league.

Jepkosgei sets women's world record in Prague half-marathon

Minister wants CZK 7.5 billion to be earmarked for sports in 2018

Czech Education, Youth and Sports Minister Kateřina Valachová (Social Democrats, ČSSD) said yesterday she will ask for CZK 7.5 billion to be earmarked for sports within the 2018 state budget, which would be a 25-percent increase compared with the sum projected for 2017.

Hlaváčková played with a fractured orbital bone, an injury she suffered in the semi-finals after Switzerland's Martina Hingis crushed a swinging volley into her face.
