The 10th edition of the physical and dance theater festival Nultý bod (Zero Point) will be held from July 16 to 21 at divadlo v Celetné, Veletržní palác, divadlo Kampa and the Werich Villa. The theme of this year's edition is intimacy. New for this year is a music program.

French Market returns to Kampa

A traditional French Market will take place on Kampa from July 11 to 15, daily from 11 am to 9 pm. The square just below Charles Bridge will be transformed into a typical French quarter with French cuisine, fine wine, music and a host of new features.

Czechia still not catching on

The name Czechia is failing to catch on after two years as the short alternative to the Czech Republic. Companies, agencies and other institutions are clinging to the long name as it is more accepted internationally. The most recent rejection came from the national hockey team, which unveiled new uniforms at the end of June. They not only lacked the national shield, using a giant crowned lion's head instead but have the text Czech Republic, with Czech in large letters.

Czech history will be re-created Saturday, July 14, at Vítkov Hill in Prague's Žižkov district. The Battle of Vítkov Hill took place in July 1420, with followers of religious reformer Jan Hus, led by Jan Žižka, fighting it out with Catholic Crusader forces loyal to the Holy Roman Empire, led by King Sigismund of Luxembourg.
