Czech agriculture ministry seeks dual quality ban

Foods that are sold under the same label in different European Union countries but differ in their composition will no longer be allowed in the Czech Republic, if a Czech Agriculture Ministry proposal becomes law. The ministry is proposing an amendment to the Food Act that will make it possible for the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority (SZPI) to impose a fine of up to CZK 50 million for violating the ban.

Sheep and goats grazing in Prague

Even though Prague is a city of over 1 million people, its residents may encounter sheep, goats and even cattle wandering inside the city limits. Two herds of sheep and goats have already started grazing in some of Prague's wilder nature areas. A third herd will be added this week, and all three will rotate in pre-selected sites until October.

Ziggy Marley coming to Archa

Reggae star Ziggy Marley is coming to divadlo Archa on July 31. The eight-time Grammy winner and oldest son Bob Marley will be performing for the first time in Prague, following up on his 2018 appearance at the Colours of Ostrava festival in Northen Moravia.

Direct Prague to Shenzen flights to start

Prague Airport has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Sichuan Airlines for opening of a new direct link between Shenzhen and Prague. Sichuan Airlines will launch the new route July 1, 2019, and flights will be scheduled twice a week, every Monday and Thursday.
