Staněk as bidder for chairmanship prefers ČSSD's gov't entry

Antonin Stanek, a Czech MP and Mayor of Olomouc who runs for Social Democrat (CSSD) chairman, would prefer the CSSD forming a cabinet with ANO to switching into opposition, he told CTK ahead of the CSSD congress that is to elect the party's new leadership and debate its approach to ANO.

Pirate Party for strict referendum conditions

Czech Pirates will insist on implementing two types of referenda in the debate on the proposal of the law on general referendum, while they are for stricter conditions in the decisions on constitutional changes and the EU to prevent abuse of this instrument, party spokeswoman Karolina Sadilkova told CTK on Wednesday.

ANO, SPD to elaborate joint programme priorities

CVVM: PM Babiš's ANO would win elections easily

Four Czech parties are for binding referendum

Representatives of PM Andrej Babiš's ANO, the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD), Communists (KSČM) and Pirates have agreed that the general referendum should be binding, SPD leader Tomio Okamura told journalists on Tuesday. The parties still differ on some questions, most notably on the topics on which a referendum should decide.

Former presidential candidate Hilšer to run for Senate
