Pirates dispute legislation for communications wiretapping

The Pirate Party las lodged a proposal to cancel some sections of several laws allowing a wholesale wiretapping of people in communication networks with the Constitutional Court, Mikuláš Ferjenčík, a deputy for the Pirates, told journalists on Wednesday.

The opposition Civic Democrats (ODS) will not support Andrej Babis's minority government, because he should have tried to form a majority coalition first, and they also challenge the government policy statement, ODS chairman Petr Fiala told reporters after his meeting with Babis on Tuesday.

Okamura wants to deprive Senate of all its money

Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) leader Tomio Okamura called on the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday to start markedly cutting the budget of the Senate, the upper house of Czech parliament, so that it would eventually get no money at all, but his proposal received no support in the lower house.
